Important October 2010 Astrological Event
Full Moon in Aries with Sun on last day of Libra

This Full Moon in Aries is the second full moon in this sign. September’s full moon was also in Aries. It is a great opportunity to finish whatever you started at the last full moon. Of course, hopefully you utilized some of the tools presented to you during the last full moon experience. This month’s full moon will also be at the last degree of Aries making it very powerful with regards to the culmination of all that this sign represents. We must take advantage of this somewhat auspicious occasion and use the energy available to meet up with the challenges presented here. Elimination of what is no longer necessary is always the mandate with the full moon. With that in mind, let us look at what the Aries/Libra opposition qualities will bring out.

With the Sun in the last degree of Libra, and the Moon in the last degree of Aries, relationships with ourselves and, of course, with other people are highlighted. We know that adjustments are necessary for all relations to be amicable. This full moon will bring us an opportunity to take the necessary actions and make those personal adjustments (Aries/Self) that are important to create positive connections. This is primary to bringing the harmony and balance that is requisite in creating rich and long lasting friendships and partnerships (Libra/Others). We must be able to listen to what others have to say and then speak our truth with compassion and kindness. Aries is the warrior, a fire sign ruled by Mars. It is challenging for them to slow down long enough to hear what others have to say as their tendency is to “fight for” what they believe in. When we learn to listen first we are more informed in our response. Fire can warm the heart or burn the house down. When planets are in Aries (next year will be a fiery year with Jupiter/Uranus in Aries) we need to slow down and get grounded.

We need to learn to integrate not separate ourselves. We can still be wonderful individuals that share the best of who we are with the world. No need to give up the self. Only need to be aware and more responsible of how we share ourselves with others. Libra is an air sign ruled by Venus, Goddess of love and beauty. Make love not war is the mantra for this full moon.

We have an opportunity in these next few days to share our truths with compassion, kindness and confidence. If others disagree, we must be willing to, at the least, respect their belief system even if we do not accept or agree with it. The more I can create the “perfect” balance between what I believe, what I share and how I share it, the more peace and harmony I will bring to my environment and those people that I want so much to be in harmony with.

The world is in a state of disharmony. So much is being brought to us in such negative ways. The political campaigns are running ads that are literally disgusting. People are being persecuted for their beliefs in every aspect of our society. We need to look at what is being presented to us and learn to discern the truth for ourselves. We relate to people and situations all day long. We must gather our strength and carry with us only those belief systems that honor integrity, responsibility and compassion. With Saturn in Libra, our lesson at this time is how to constructively balance the needs of self with the needs of others. I am reading the new book by Thomas Moore entitled “Spiritual Partnership…The Key to Authentic Power”. This book has emerged at the most perfect time astrologically with Saturn in Libra.

Ask yourself what kind of partner, friend, lover, mother, father, child, employee or employer (the list goes on) that you are. Journal out what you can do to become a more loving and compassionate person in any or all of your relationships. If those are working well for you, journal what you can do to become a better partner to yourself. The more we identify our personal character the more we can fully accomplish our goals and reach for our dreams.

We are living in a very exciting time albeit the economic debacles that have all of us spinning. If we think about it in another way, we have an opportunity to create better relationships as we need to depend on each other. People get very creative during difficult times. People come together more readily. It’s a perfect time to combine the Aries and Libra qualities to support your life.
