It is here. The start of another year on our beautiful Planet Earth. And yet it is bigger than just the changing of the calendar from 2012 to 2013. This year is considered to be a real opportunity for a new beginning. We are beginning what is called the time of the “The Ascension”. The dictionary describes ascension as “the act or process of rising or going upward”. An advancement of sorts.

And so the new journey begins.

We are all ascending to a higher vibration whether we realize it or not. When one considers going up a ladder for instance, it can be dizzying. Upward motion of any kind brings a new body experience as well. The Ascension we are experiencing at this time will bring many different emotional and physical sensations.

As we reach for new heights in the way we are living there will be goodness; there will be challenges; there will be more changes than we have experienced in this entire lifetime and finally there will be the ultimate transformation of almost everything we used to depend on.

As an astrologer my concern is how the planets can guide and assist us in our ascension.   By what they do best of course.  Influence us and support us in making the kind of decisions that will focus on us living healthier so the planet can live healthier so we can live healthier as we are all so intrinsically connected to each other.

Jupiter will continue to bring us goodness as it finishes up its stay in the sign of Gemini and in July moves into the sign of Cancer (our astrological mother). During 2013 Jupiter will do its best to sweeten our words and messages to each other and to the world in general as it continues its stay in Gemini and then our Cancerian mother of the zodiac will come along to teach us to nurture our inner and outer beings in new and more powerful ways.

The powers that be are telling us that this is going to be a year like no other.  I realize it sounds dramatic and yet it is not that we as human beings have not experienced drama through the centuries. The difference with 2013 is that is going to bring a NEW way of being that will be unfamiliar to so many of us who have depended on outside sources for our well being.

Yes, with Pluto in Capricorn our astrological father breaking down old structures it is time to create a NEW community connection. We must create a community based world that is interdependent.  One where all of us finally realize that we must depend on and support each other. 

This will be assisted by a grand water trine with Neptune in Pisces, Saturn in Scorpio and Jupiter in Cancer. All three of these watery signs will activate our emotional bodies and open our hearts to the compassion and love that we will need to support our fellow humans. The level of emotion and deep caring that will become available is the universe’s way of giving us the necessary tools to make our way through the drastic events that are occurring worldwide.  The financial as well as natural world is slamming us with unprecedented disastrous events.  And these events are all becoming too familiar. Instead of asking who is to blame we need to find a way to fix it!

We are going to have to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and in 2013 we will have the support of both Cancer and Capricorn (our planetary mother and father) to do whatever is necessary to feed our spirits, minds and bodies in ways that make sense for humanity and the planet. If we do not pay close attention to the goodness that is all around us and decide to instead lock our doors and live in the fear world that is being presented to us we will only create more fear.

Our communities need us now. Find your passion and give to it. Volunteer your time and energy to a cause you believe in. Become your own best father and mother. Love yourself as never before. Embrace your loved ones and support them in ways that honor them. In the Age of Aquarius the need is for us to learn the true meaning of non-judgement of others.

So much violence is caused by the need to have control of others. Uranus in Aries is pushing us forward to new and innovative ways of living. This must be paid attention to. It is time for each of us to become adventurers. We need to search for ways to encourage, assist, defend and cooperate so we can live in the Universe’s vision of what life on this planet was created for.   Look at nature to see the beauty and caring  of every aspect of life.  From the workings of our physical body to the workings of the food we eat to the workings of the natural world. What a miracle.

We don’t need a better car or a bigger house with more rooms to really be happy. I have been in mansions where the people who live there never even enter half of the rooms they live in. We have pillaged our planet to gain some kind of perceived recognition. The Universe is asking us to stop. There are people that are telling us it is too late. We have already gone too far and yet I see so much innovation being created by good and caring people who were the same people in other centuries that found better ways of doing things that we are still enjoying today.  Thomas Edison comes to mind along with so many others.  Leonardo Da Vinci spent his life as an adventurer and explorer. 

Let’s all join in the adventure and do what we can. Let’s make 2013 a year of truly living as spiritual beings. Let your astrological chart lead the way for you.
